Best Buy is rolling out its new holiday campaign and it is all about the excitement of giving and receiving that perfect gift. Christmas is always a very busy time of the year and with that in mind Best Buy wanted a campaign that would stand out from all the holiday commercials featuring specific tech gifts.
The campaign features a 30-second television spot called “Gift” which starts with a Best Buy employee guiding a customer towards the perfect gift. This is shot from the point of view of the gift, so the viewer never knows exactly what it is.
That gift ultimately becomes representative of the thousands of amazing tech gifts available at Best Buy. It’s a memorable way to focus on the joy of giving and getting a great gift, and not just the “cool factor” of the technology itself.
A 0:30 national radio spot for Black Friday and Boxing Week complement the campaign.
This “Best Gifts” campaign is an extension of the new brand positioning that was launched this fall. The campaign was supported with both in-store and online pieces, and is a unique way to set Best Buy apart from other tech retailers during the crowded holiday season.
