Txt.ca released its quarterly report of text messages that are sent in Canada. During the third quarter of 2011, Canadians sent 19.5 billion text messages, with 6.7 billion of those occurring in September. Well over 200 million text messages are exchanged each day, which equates to more than 2,500 texts per second.
Looking back a few years,iIn 2009, Canadians sent 35.5 billion texts. In 2010, this number climbed 60% to 56.4 billion. In 2011, this number is expected to reach 80 billion.
Sounds like text messages are still having a strong impact on mobile communications.
