According to Mashable, Foursquare and Groupon are partnering to deliver real time deals (RTD) to consumers in both Canada and the United states. This could be a huge opportunity for the two to make significant leaps ahead of their competition, and fend off all competition from from Facebook and Google who each have been playing in the same sand box with their own social commerce offerings. Groupon launched their Groupon Now offering in May of this year which is the service that delivers real time deals, and now the combination of “check-in” data from Foursquare could be bring the end to a few competitors.
